A’s home opener
Last night was lots of fun with the pre-game fireworks and the fly-over. From there though, it was down hill. Jack Cust did lighten things up with a homer and the Guinness was fine. The crowds were horrible with lines from the concession stands slowing traffic to one or two lines. This is why we need a new ball park!
There were even lines for the men’s restroom and one lady telling the guys, “Now you know what it feels like.” She was happy to see her husband waiting in line.
The A’s were really off last night. Of course, these guys haven’t spent years playing together like Boston so I guess a little slack is due but a lot of practice on fundamentals is due also. How do we play a bunt? When does the pitcher run after a ball between 1st and 2nd instead of covering first?
The only bright spot was the outfield. They caught everything hit their way and Travis Buck has quite the arm.
