Save the Colors
These are my opinions (which change occasionally) based on my life experiences, up-bringing, and the times in which I lived. BTW, I do believe in many ways, I have lived in the best of times.
I don’t vote for any particular party but I am conservative. I also am worried, sad, angry, upset, at the waste, corruption, laziness, moral bankruptcy, weakness and dishonesty of my fellow citizens, non-citizens, and all levels of leadership from corporations to government.
Here, I get to sound off, rant, speak, cajole and hopefully lower my blood pressure and sometimes even laugh a little.
The data here, pictures, field manuals, films, papers, etc. is here for you to mine and use as needed. Some of it may be one-sided. So be it. I don’t believe in being politically correct especially when my family, friends and country’s survival is at stake.
Where I am coming from . . .
Joining the Army during the Vietnam era, I spent time as a Combat Engineer and made my way into Special Forces. In Vietnam, assigned to SOG and CCN, I was lucky to serve with some of the best. I was a “10” (one zero) and my RT (recon team) was RT Virginia. Later I spent many hours in the air as “Covey” in both O2A’s and OV10’s. After Vietnam I worked as a plans officer, review and developing contingency plans for many types of military operations. I know a little something about the military.
I have spent time in politics at a local level. I chaired a planning commission and was a campaign manager for a candidate’s successful run for a state representative. I helped during the Regan campaign and was invited to his inaugural ball. I know some thing about politics.
I kept my foot in military affairs for years. In 2004 I went to Iraq and was assigned to Mosul as a project leader for security team(s) working under contract for US Army Corps of Engineers. I was in Iraq for a year. I traveled northern Iraq and spent many days in Kurdistan. I also spent time in Jordan (studying Arabic) and in Kuwait. I met many Muslims and Christians, Iraqis, Kurds and Turks. Some secular, some not. Some had been educated in England, a few in America. I know something of the Middle East.
We have two major threats to life as we know it. One is external and comes from those who believe in Islam. Those who radicalize the religion. Those who are are taught to look and live in the past and blame every shortcoming and problem they have on the West particularly on America. Their leaders totally uneducated in anything except the Koran and their own culture. They promote our downfall, hope for it and celebrate when we suffer a defeat. These leaders provide the soldiers for the Salafi Jihadists.
This foundation of this impression is not just anecdotal but also based upon historical and current documented facts. This fight we face will not be easy. It will be long. It will take resources and lives. It will take direct actions as well as strategic. We should
• track and kill any Jihadists, and those who shelter them and support them;
• prepare ourselves (individually and as families) to respond to and survive attacks;
• secure our borders and control who comes into the US. (Who, when they come, and how long they stay is “Force Protection 101.”);
• respond to challenges from regimes like those in North Korea and Iran;
• examine and adjust our foreign policies to be consistent and balanced with our belief in human dignity, freedom and our survival.

The second threat is internal. It is ourselves. The government that was founded 233 years ago, the government founded on constitution, the government that has been tested and held, is not the government we have had in the past few years. Nor is it the government that seems to be developing. The foundation of the government has changed – many people demand more from, provide less to, expect miracles of the government. Greed, apathy, senseless crime, selfishness cannot be solved by, but can totally bring down our government. We need changes in who governs and the way they govern. We should
• stop re-electing leaders who are professional politicians. Political office is not a career.
• We should not allow the major corporations of this country to run the country. No one in office should take any compensation in any form from corporate money. This is not a matter of free speech, it is a matter of undue influence.
• Politicians should have term limits. It is good enough for the Office of President. If they actually worked before and after going to Washington they will be more likely to represent us.

On these pages (listed on the sidebar) you will find information, references and ideas about the task at hand. I hope it does some good. The road ahead is not an easy one. We cannot afford to compromise, accept, or tolerate. Complacency will cause our downfall. Partisan politics will bring defeat. The battle lines are drawn and the enemy is at the gate. Save the Colors!
