The case for duct tape

Friday, December 11th, 2009

Duct tape is on my list of essential to have items in the Sprinter and it should be on yours.

From a friend . . .

A bear attacked this guy’s plane while parked in a remote field in Alaska. He had not cleaned it out after a long fishing trip and the bear smelled food.

He had 2 new tires, 3 cases of Duct Tape and several rolls of cellophane delivered. Then he went about repairing the plane so he could fly it home.

Did he eat the tires also? There must be food here!
Maybe back here. I found it!
Almost fixed. The magic of duct tape.

A small brown bear fishing A jump ahead – we will get back to the other days but we had to tell you about today. We arrived in Haines today, had lunch and checked into the campground where we were told bears could be seen fishing up the Chilcoot River near Chilcoot Lake. After we got settled, we decided to drive to the river, about 20 minutes away.
Now where can those salmon be The bear was on our side of the river in the grass and made its way down to the river. There were fisherman within a 100′ who moved when the bear turned upstream.
I think I see a fish The bear wondered back and forth a bit and then put his face into the water and came up with about a 10 pound salmon. It was an amazing thing to watch.
