Japan wins, Bluefin Tuna looses

the rapacious appetites of Japanese sushi lovers. -AP, Dubai
And modern technology continues to contribute to the demise. Floating tuna factories are now able to take as much tuna in 2 days as whole countries can take in a year.
Japan imports 80% of the tuna it consumes so blocking the vote against the
export of tuna was critical for them – not too mention the tuna.
There are other types of tuna but the Bluefin seems to be the primary target with a 440 pound tuna selling last year for $220,000.
Sorry Charlie®. It just doesn’t look too good. Japan wants to follow the International Commission for the Conservation of Atlantic Tunas (ICCAT) which basically means nothing will change and soon the Bluefin will gone.
